Well i'm not that suprised my letter didn't make it to David Stern. But here's what they responded with. I wish they would have addressed the issue that Rondo basically said without saying that he comitted a flagrant. Oh Well. Here's what they said. Some canned response. Looks like i'm back to a Sportscenter NBA Fan.
Dear Stephen,
Thank you for contacting the National Basketball Association with your concerns regarding the foul committed by Rajon Rondo in the Chicago Bulls vs. Boston Celtics game on Sunday, April 26.
After careful review, the NBA ruled that the play in question will stand as called. In order for a foul to be considered flagrant, we examine whether or not there was a wind-up, a follow through, and the level of impact. The foul did not meet these criteria. Therefore, it has not been upgraded to a flagrant foul penalty.
Thank you again for your concern. We appreciate your feedback regarding this issue.
Sincerely,
NBA Fan Relations
You should reply back saying, "And because it did not meet those criteria I will not continue watching. Only something as blind as your league would not be able to see Rondo wind up, follow through, and Brad Miller gushing blood all over the court. Maybe you should refer to the NFL on how a successful organization runs."
ReplyDelete"...in other news, the Bulls totally covered the spread in that game, so we aren't sure what you are complaining about. Our officials do their jobs."
ReplyDeleteI can't read that letter without getting infuriated. It's not that the Bulls lost, its that the NBA is showing that it can and will continue to allow the refs to influence games to such an extent that it determines the outcomes, and the NBA will turn a blind eye. My letter to the NBA officiating wasn't as nice and professional as yours. I'll sum it up for you really quickly. I said, "Every person that is affiliated with the officiating in the NBA deserves to lose their job. And this includes the person who is reading this email." What a joke of a league.
